Elton John’s New Bass Player: Matt Bissonette

Following the sudden and tragic death of Bob Birch, Matt Bissonette has been named as the new bass player in Elton John’s band. Bissonette is currently rehearsing with the band in Los Angeles for their upcoming North American tour, which begins September 11 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Elton John, Billy Joel Mourn The Loss Of Bassist Bob Birch

Earlier this week, Bob Birch, Elton John’s bassist of 20 years, passed away at the age of 56 near his Los Angeles home. Now John and frequent tourmate/fellow piano man Billy Joel have paid respects to Birch on their respective websites.
