Rays’ Wil Myers AL Rookie Of The Year & Bolts’ Steven Stamkos Out Update
Congratulations to The Rays Wil Myers, 2013 American League Rookie of the Year!
And was there any doubt? Wil Myers was called up on June 18 and hit .293 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs in 88 games. And the thing I liked most was when he did make a mistake-or even just striking out, you could see him filing it away.
Almost as if his mind was saying “OK, got that next time”.
Sadly, the Lightning, in first place and playing a matinee in Boston today, lost the game 3-0.
Worse, they lost Steven Stamkos to a broken fibula.
UPDATE: The Lightning said Stamkos has a broken right tibia and will have surgery Tuesday morning. Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said Stamkos will spend at least one night at Massachusetts General Hospital and will be accompanied by trainer Mike Poirier.
What a blow to the Bolts. That’s 60 goals that are now off the table for “an indefinite time.”
Time to “man up” boys. How about a win in Montreal Tuesday night?
