Charlie Hunnam is not going to play the lead role in “50 Shades Of Grey” movie.
The studios behind the film, Universal Pictures and Focus Features, just released a statement today, stating “The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s intensive TV schedule, which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Hunnam, 33, has been the star of the hit show “Sons of Anarchy” since 2008.
The studios can say what they want but the backlash on Twitter and Facebook and around the office speaks louder than they do. Nobody could picture the rugged Charlie Hunnam as Grey! The search continues!
If you go by tweets – your #1 pick is Ian Somerhalder with 38% followd by Matt Bomer with 27% and Channing Tatum with 6%. Follow the tweets #ChristianGrey #50ShadesOfGrey #50Shades.
