Captain Jane Renee “JR” Lund of the U.S. Army Reserves had been deployed in Afghanistan in April and hasn’t seen her daughter since then.

Lund was able to surprise her daughter with the help of the University of Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium.

It was announced to the crowd that the honor of the military member of the game would go to 13-year-old Bella.

As Bella stood on the field with Bucky Badger, Wisconsin’s mascot, she was facing the jumbotron on which photos of her mother were shown.

Captain Lund stepped onto the field into the end zone behind her daughter as the stadium announcer spilled the beans in front of 80,000 Wisconsinites.
