007 Underwater Car Goes Up for Auction
For Sale: “Wet Nellie”, The 007 Underwater Car from “The Spy Who Loved Me”.
How it got there is a tale for the ages.
According to CNBC, in 1989 a Long Island contractorbought the contents of a storage container for $100.
The next day, he and his brother went to clean it out, and discovered “a lump” in the corner.
When they peeled off the tarps, Voila’!
“Wet Nellie”, the Lotus Esprit that Roger Moore and Barbara Bach drove off a pier to evade the bad guys.
And, Oh, by the way. The contractor and his brother didn’t know what they had, at least initially.
And now, they stand to net at least One. Million. Dollars.
“Wet Nellie” goes up for auction September 9th in London, through RM Auctions.
Perhaps Ringo will pony up, and give it to his wife!
