If you have not seen today’s “Google Doodle”-check this one out.  A salute to film pioneer and graphic designer Saul Bass, on what would have been his 93rd birthday. So what, you say?  Well, watch the Doodle, and you’ll see. Enjoy:

Familiar looking, wasn’t it?  Here’s why.  According to the Washington Post, the artwork in the Google Doodle pays homage to Mr. Bass’ title sequences for major films like “North by Northwest”, “Psycho”, “The Man With The Golden Arm”, West Side Story”, “Vertigo”, “Anatomy of a Murder” and “Around the World In 80 Days”.

In all, Saul Bass created title sequences for some 40 films over 4 decades, including “Goodfellas”, “Casino” and the Rat Pack’s “Oceans 11″.  Mr. Bass died in 1996 at age 75.  His work-his Genius, was timeless.
