Ringo gets his “Starr” turn this week on Q105’s Beatles Wednesday.  Every Hour from 9a-midnight we’ll feature Ringo’s best Beatles lead vocals and his biggest solo hits, too.  And I hope you’ll indulge me two favorite memories of Ringo, connecting across generations of my family.

First off-my favorite “Ringo” Beatles tune, “Boys”.  I am fairly certain this is the video from the “Shindig” show shot in London, specifically to “get” the Beatles.  And did they ever! Ringo just nails to vocal, and if you listen to the drumming, you understand why Sir George Martin has said, (paraphrasing) “The Beatles didn’t need a drum machine-they had Ringo”.

The second video is Ringo, as Mr. Conductor, narrating part of a Thomas the Tank Engine/Shining Time Station episode.  As a little guy, my nephew Joshua loved Thomas-when “Uncle Bob-Bob” would come to visit, we would watch videos and play with his Thomas trains. Great memories.

Enjoy our last “FAB-ruary” Beatles Wednesday,  with Ringo.
