Q105′s own Scott Walker and a former American Idol contestant were breathing fire and beans at Saint Petersburg’s Grand Central District’s annual Sunshine City Festival & Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Feb 23.

The festival celebrating the unique characteristics of the District and it’s “Old Florida” flavor also included a knock-your-socks-off chili cook off with over 22 different chili’s all homemade by most of the businesses and bars in the district. Former American Idol constant Melissa Mcghee, from the 5 season of American Idol, thrilled the crowd with songs from her stint on American Idol.

Categories Scott helped Judge were: Best Restaurant Chili, Best Business Chili, Best Individual Chili, Best Neighborhood Chili and People’s Choice Chili. Details on the winners of these categories are waiting confirmation.
