On February 11, 1985, the soundtrack from Eddie Murphy’s “Beverly Hills Cop” was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The hit-filled album included songs by Patti LaBelle, Glenn Frey, The Pointer Sisters and the little known Harold Faltermeyer.
Later in 1985, the soundtrack reached Double Platinum.
