Gasparilla Pirate Fest 2013 will be on Saturday, January 26th.

The pirate invasion by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla will head into Hillsborough Bay around 11:30 a.m. and will dock at the Tampa Convention Center at 1 p.m. Mayor Bob Buckhorn will hand over the key to the city to the captain of Ye Mystic Krewe.

After the Krewe has taken over the city, they’ll head to the parade route which will begin at Bayshore Blvd. and Bay-to-Bay at 2 p.m. The parade will head down Bayshore Blvd. to Brorein Street and through downtown Tampa.

Q105′s Nikki Cruz will be at the Publix located at the corner of Platt Street and Bayshore Blvd. Join her there from 2 until 5:30 p.m. Bring Nikki some beads! The parking lot overlooks the parade route. Come visit Nikki throughout the day where you can have a great view of the parade as it passes into the city.

Also, look for Dave “Flash” Morgan on the float of “Krewe of Blackbeard’s Revenge.”

If you’re looking for parking, here are a few notes that may help:

• There will be parking lots and garages all over downtown Tampa and Ybor City that will have special event pricing.

• The TECO Line Streetcar will be running from Ybor City to downtown Tampa from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. You will be able to get a $5 all-day pass at the ticket vending machines (cash). This does not include parking fees.

• HART bus service will also be available between Ybor City and downtown Tampa.

• Also availabe is the In-Town Trolly service between the north end of downtown Tampa from the Marion Street Transit Center to the south end of downtown Tampa,the Dick Greco Plaza near the Tampa Convention Center. One-time fees and all-day passes are available for both HART bus service and the In-Town Trolley Service with exact change (no change is provided).
