Odds of Winning the Powerball Jackpot Lottery
So you’d like to win that $425 million Power Ball jackpot? So would we! And, even though we’d all enjoy the huge lump sum of cash, or even the annual payout… Let’s take a look at the odds of winning the lottery.
You’d have a better chance at… Well, let’s see!
1. Hitting a DEER in Hawai’i. That’s the state where you’d be least likely to do so, according to State Farm Insurance. If you were in Hawai’i; then, the odds are about 1 in 6000 of hitting a deer.
2. Dying from a bee sting. Chances of that happening are about 1 in 6,000,000. The chance of dying from a lightning strike are 1 in 3,000,000. Chance of being struck by lightning (but not necessarily dying) some time in your life is about 1 in 10,000 for someone who lives to be 80, according to the National Weather Service.
3. Beachgoers, you have a 1 in 11,500,000 chance of being attacked by a shark. Chances of dying by any reason at a beach are about 1 in 2,000,000.
4. Golfers! For the average amateur golfer, your chances are about 1 in 13,000 of sinking a hole in one. For those of us who really stink at golf, chances are obviously even worse! Chances of back-to-back holes in one come to about 1 in 156,000,000, and that’s still better than the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot!
Meanwhile, the chance of winning the Powerball jackpot is 1 in 175,000,000!
