Sylvester Stallone’s son will reportedly be laid to rest this weekend. “Entertainment Tonight” says a funeral for 36-year-old Sage Moonblood Stallone will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Los Angeles on Saturday. Although a rep for Sylvester Stallone declined to discuss the details, “ET” goes on to say that Sage’s mother, Sasha, has requested donations be made to the Autism Speaks organization in lieu of flowers.
After it was announced that the 36-year-old actor had died, Margie Phelps, the daughter of Westboro Baptist Church leader Fred Phelps, reportedly urged her 5,600 followers on Twitter to picket Stallone’s funeral.
According to the Huffington Post, Phelps tweeted,
“Thrice-married rebel taught his son to mock God. #picketfuneral”
The Westboro Baptist Church usually pickets military funerals, as part of its anti-gay agenda. However, this time, they are targeting Sage because of his father’s three previous relationships.
Sage was found dead in his Hollywood home last Friday, July 13th. An autopsy has been performed, but results are not expected for several weeks. Meanwhile, the elder Stallone has asked for privacy as the family mourns.
Sage was Sylvester’s first born child. He appeared alongside his father in 1990′s “Rocky 5,” playing Rocky Balboa, Jr. at the age of 14. He also appeared with Sylvester in 1996′s “Daylight.” In addition to acting, Sage also worked as a director and screenwriter.
