From Mason In The Morning

Could Carlos Santana soon have his own radio show on Q105? Well, he should send our program director a sample of his show.

Santana says he would enjoy taking his favorite music and his message to the masses via radio. The guitarist tells “USA Today” he’d call his show “Required Listening for Planet Earth.” The playlist would include Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, and Louis Armstrong, and he says the show would, “rearrange people’s molecular structures, make them more benevolent.”

He admits he still lives by the principles of the 1960s, explaining that the hippies “had power,” and their message and ideals were real. Santana also calls John Lennon’s “Imagine” a hymn for today.

Santana just wrapped up his latest run of Las Vegas dates on Sunday. He’ll launch his summer “Shape Shifter” tour in Hinckley, Minnesota on July 7th. The trek includes a six-concert run with the Allman Brothers Band in late July.

The rocker returns to Vegas to launch a new slate of “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live” shows in September.
