Kim Kardashian says being a reality TV star had nothing to do with her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries, and their relationship would have fallen apart with or without the cameras.

Kim made these comments on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Wednesday.

Kim says going through her divorce was an incredibly difficult situation to deal with. She says she was surprised at just how much attention it got, but adds that her family was incredibly supportive. Kim says she was particularly reliant on her mother, noting that she moved in with her mom for four months and just took some time away from work.

Kim also talked about her upcoming movie, “The Marriage Counselor.” She says it was great getting to work with Tyler Perry on the film, adding that she really put a lot of time and effort into her role.

“The Marriage Counselor” arrives in theaters on July 27th.
