The majority of Americans believe dogs should get more credit for their intelligence. Do you agree? As a dog lover, I’ve had both – clever dogs and dumb dogs. Well, if you don’t agree, the proof is in the dog gravy, errrr pudding! Let’s look at the video and find out just how smart dogs really are.

Eighty-percent of the respondents in a new Marist Poll say they think people underestimate just how smart dogs are. Among dog owners, 87-percent feel their pet knows and understands more than people realize, while 73-percent of those without a dog agree.

Women are more inclined than men to believe in the intelligence of dogs, with 85-percent of the women and 76-percent of the men saying the public isn’t aware of just how bright dogs are.

Only 15-percent feel humans attribute more intelligence to canines than the pups deserve.
