'George Harrison: Living In The Material World' - UK Premiere - Inside Arrivals

Sixty years ago this month, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary ascended to the throne of the United Kingdom after her father, King George VI, passed away at the age of 56. In honor of this anniversary, Sir James Paul McCartney, Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and Sir Elton Hercules John, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, who we “yanks” know as just plain ol’ [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm], respectively, will lead an ensemble of performers spanning decades of music as they perform in front of Buckingham Palace before the Queen and the Royal Family.

The other members of the all-star ensemble set to perform before the House of Windsor are [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tom Jones[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Shirley Bassey[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Annie Lennox[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cliff Richard[/lastfm], Jessie J, boy band JLS and singer songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Apparently, Princes William and Harry had both requested particular artists to perform at the show. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the event in addition to the royal family, and if it’s anything like the “Party at the Palace” for Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee back in 2002, which featured performances from many of this year’s performers plus [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eric Clapton[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bryan Adams[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Phil Collins[/lastfm], Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rod Stewart[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ozzy Osbourne[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Steve Winwood[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Joe Cocker[/lastfm], and many more, it’s going to be one heckuva party! Check out the videos below from the Golden Jubilee!
