[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bob Seger[/lastfm] has sold more than 50 million albums, 11 going platinum, and he’s not done yet. Now, he’s announced plans to write and record the first studio album since 1996!
We’ve already reported on Bob’s latest release, Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets, available on Nov 21st. But wait, there’s a LOT more coming. Seger told Ultimate Classic Rock, “I will write from January 1 through March 31. I will finish the next record and right now, yes, I will tour with the next record.”
Bob has been touring for about 50 years and still gets major satisfaction from traveling and playing: “I really enjoy being with the people I play with. I enjoy their company. I love the crew, the band, we just move through the country like an army. I always feel very grateful to be up there. There aren’t any bad nights anymore unless I’m singing bad but then the band will carry me. And if they’re playing bad I will carry them. It’s all a team effort.”
With all his energy, drive and excitement, it sounds like this will be an album and tour we will ‘never forget.’ Rock on!
