
Wednesday night, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm] played a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and there were a couple surprise guests that appeared with him on stage during the concert.
While performing his hit, ‘Piano Man‘, a second piano was rolled up next to Elton on stage. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Leon Russell[/lastfm] than proceeded to join him on stage while sitting at the piano. It was the first time that Russell had stood on the Madison Square Garden stage since 1971. The duo played a total of eight songs together during the show.
Roadies then began to bring out an extra microphone stand when all of the sudden, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gregg Allman[/lastfm] walked out on stage. He sang during [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Neil Young[/lastfm]‘s verse from the “Gone To Shiloh” album. This show was Elton‘s 61st concert at Madison Square Garden.
