Billboard is reporting that the [lastfm]Clee [/lastfm]cast has destroyed [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm] long standing record for the most appearances on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart by a non-solo act.

The record was broken this week by 5 of the cast’s covers of Britney Spears songs from last week’s episode, alon with the cover of Paramore’s “The Only Exception”.

From 1964 to 1996, The Beatles had 71 entries on the Hot 100, but now with 6 new ones on the most recent chart, The Glee cast has beaten that mark with 75.

The Beatles 71 songs spanned a 33 year career, while Glee’s 75 spanned 1 year, 4 months, and 2 weeks.
